We are Food Contract Production for Checkers

We are so excited that Checkers new Rustic Oven Frozen Meal Range has now launched in stores nationwide.

We worked closely with shoprite Checkers to produce a gourmet range of seven frozen meals, including Coq Au Vin, Shredded Beef Lasagne, Cheesy Mutton Ragu, Chicken Pie, Beef Bobotie, Frikkadels & Gravy, and Dauphinoise Potatoes.

We are Food manages the production, distribution and merchandising of these meals which are available in over 160 Checkers Cluster A and B stores throughout South Africa.

    Last week I bought your Rustic Oven chicken coq au vin for upcoming Sunday lunch. (CHICKEN THIGHS,MUSHROOMS CRISPY BACON IN RICH WINE AND BRANDY SAUCE)
    I have NEVER experienced such a rip off!
    Not one thigh- only cuts from the chicken BACKBONE with little chicken meat on them, little tiny pieces of white button mushroom sprinkled on top, two small pieces of bacon and two slices of carrot in a watery sauce without the rich flavour of reduced brandy/wine sauce, rather a thin “Bisto-type” gravy with very little flavour.
    I have cooked this recipe many times – thought I would spoil myself with a ready-cooked meal. Disappointment is an understatement!
    I shall be contacting relevant Checkers’ personnel management.

    Your gourmet steak Pies are the best ever. I hate any fat on my meat and normally I spend ages cutting off fat in any other pies. So much that I had given up eating steak pies. Now I have discovered yours I am a big fan.
    Well done, don’t change your pies or lower your standards.
